10. TEMPORARY WAREHOUSES & GUTTED BUILDINGS

10.1 TEMPORARY WAREHOUSES: Any hex on the RO map containing two brown, parallel structures (EX: J21 and J22) is a Temporary Warehouse hex. Temporary Warehouses are wooden, multi-hex buildings that have a ground level only and are one level obstacles to LOS.

10.11 CELLARS & ROOFTOPS: A Temporary Warehouse building has no Cellar (6.; B23.41), but does have Rooftop Locations at Level 1.

10.12 RUBBLE CREATION: A Temporary Warehouse hex receives a 1 drm for Rubble Creation (24.11-.121) purposes.

10.2 GUTTED BUILDINGS: A non-Factory Gutted Building (EX: ROW14 on overlay GF21) represents a building that was burnt-out in previous fighting10. Gutted Buildings are created in RePh step 11.6094 or by SSR; they are never created during play. See 5.5 for Gutted Factories.

10.21 ROOFLESS: Gutted Buildings are Roofless buildings but retain their original obstacle height (i.e., 1, 1.5, or 2.5 level [EXC: if rubbled]). All Roofless Factory hex rules (5.4) apply in the uppermost existing Location [EXC: if rubbled] of each hex of the building except as amended below. All non-rooftop Locations of a Gutted Building still exist normally.

10.22 TEM/LOS: Normal LOS rules apply to LOS within the building (B23.25); i.e., each Gutted Building Location is still a LOS obstacle. The TEM of each Location in a Gutted Building is +3 (+4 if Fortified) [EXC: vs Aerial attacks (10.25) and Indirect Fire (10.26)].

10.23 ENTRY: Infantry pay normal building entry costs plus one MF to enter a Gutted Building Location. AFV entry of a Gutted Building is handled per normal building entry rules (B23.4-.41).

10.24 KINDLING: A Gutted Building Location may never catch Fire in any way (i.e., it is not Burnable Terrain) [EXC: if rubbled].

10.25 AERIAL: The Sighting TC (E7.3) DRM vs a unit in a Roofless Location of a Gutted Building is a +2; vs a unit in a non-Roofless Location of a Gutted Building the DRM is a +3. Aerial fire vs a unit in a Roofless Location of a Gutted Building receives a +2 TEM (even if Fortified); the TEM is +3 (+4 if Fortified) vs a non-Roofless Location.

10.26 INDIRECT FIRE: Indirect Fire vs a Roofless Location of a Gutted Building receives a +2 TEM (even if Fortified). Indirect Fire (including non-SW mortars in upper-Level Locations, even if non-Fortified; [B23.93]) is allowed from a Roofless Location of a Gutted (but AA fire vs Aerial units is not). Indirect Fire vs a unit in a - Location of a Gutted Building receives a +1 DRM for each non-rooftop level of the building above it.
