2. BRT OCEAN & REEF

2.1 Any hex with its hex-center-dot covered in ocean blue is a BRT Ocean hex (EX: hexes W11 and V15). All Ocean hexes are Submerged-reef (G13.431) [EXC: hexes Y11 and Z10 are Exposed Reef (G13.431)].

2.2 BRT OCEAN-HINTERLAND HINDRANCE: All LOS/LOF to or from an Ocean Location is subject to a +1 LV Hindrance for each Hinterland hex depiction which is crossed to or from the target hex. This hindrance is not applicable with any other in-hex hindrance nor does it affect any Fire Lane.

EX: See the illustration above. An attack by the 4-4-8 vs. the 6-6-8 will receive a +2 Hindrance DRM (+1 each for Palm-Debris hexes R36 and R37), and an attack vs. the 7-6-8 would also receive a +2 Hindrance DRM (+1 for Hinterland hex Q37 and +1 for the Palm-Debris in hex R37). An alternate-grain 2FP Fire Lane attack through Q37 to S39 would receive only the +1 Palm-Debris Hindrance, would be resolved on the 1FP column vs. the 6-6-8, and would not affect the 7-6-8 (2.4).

2.3 WADING VEHICLES: A Hull Hit versus an AFV Wading in Ocean receives a +1 DRM applied to the To Kill DR.

2.31 Swamping (G13.4222) in Ocean is NA. Any non-amphibious vehicle that enters a Ocean hex must make a Ocean Bog DR that is modified by the following DRM (no other DRM apply):

Any vehicle that Bogs in a Ocean hex is automatically Mired. The Mire drm to the colored dr of an Ocean Bog Removal DR is +2, but a CE AFV receives a -1 drm and a vehicle escorted by a Pathfinder receives a -2 drm to the colored dr of its Ocean Bog Removal DR.

2.4 RESIDUAL FIREPOWER & FIRELANES: All Residual FP in an Ocean hex is reduced by one additional column. Fire Lanes end in the first Ocean hex entered and affect such an Ocean location on the next FP column to the left. See the 2.2 example.

2.5 BRT TETRAHEDRONS: The following rules for the use of tetrahedrons apply in addition to G14.51. Whenever any vehicle enters or changes VCA in a tetrahedron-Ocean hex, the tetrahedron's owner makes a dr (one dr per VCA hexspine changed). On a Final dr of 1, the vehicle is subject to an A-T Mine attack (B28.52). Additional A-T mine factors may be purchased from the FPP Chart and are secretly recorded as being added to the inherent A-T capability of a tetrahedron. Each additionally-purchased A-T mine factor adds a -1 drm to the above dr for that tetrahedron.
